New OUTLANDER Video Gives Us a Look at Season 2

Season 2 of the Starz series Outlander, based on the series of novels by Diana Gabaldon returns to the cable network on April 9. Today we have a new video featuring stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe who play Jamie and Claire. The unfairly pretty TV couple dish on what we’re going to see in the upcoming episodes. As you recall (and yes, there will be season 1 spoilers here), Jamie just survived a brutal rape and Claire is pregnant. They’re heading to Paris and the palace of Versailles to try to prevent the fall of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the slaughter that took place (or will take place in their timeline) at the Battle of Culloden, the final battle of the Jacobite rising.

Season 2 is going to be split into two halves, with the first in France and the second back in Scotland. We know that Brianna has been cast (though we won’t tell you what that means here in case you haven’t read the books) and that the timelines are going to start getting a bit complicated. Heughan teases a few surprises in how that’s going to be handled. He also references getting used to the new costumes, though it looks like Balfe is the one who’s going to suffer in those absolutely gorgeous torture devices eighteenth century France called clothing. That red dress, you guys!

Are you excited for season 2? Are you drooling over Heughan to the point where you’ve pre-ordered napkins in bulk from Costco for the premiere? Will they manage to change history and save their friends? Do you now call your significant other mo cridhe obsessively? Tweet me/us @JennaBusch/@Nerdist and let us know if you have any idea how they’re going to manage all the timey wimey stuff. (Wrong show, but it totally fits here!)
