New LOGAN Trailer Remix Adds the Previous X-MEN Films

Ever since the first Logan trailer debuted, we keep seeing new takes on the trailer. We’ve already covered the Logan trailer that was remade with X-Men animated clips, and an X2: X-Men United trailer recut in the style of Hugh Jackman‘s final Wolverine movie. Now, a new Logan remix has brought together footage from almost all of the X-Men films to date!

YouTube user afauclair created the new Logan Trailer – X-Men Saga Recut trailer, which follows Wolverine’s story from beginning to the end, but not necessarily in chronological order. It’s almost a full minute before we see clips from Wolverine’s stint in several wars from the beginning of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But the clever thing about this remix is that it makes the events of Logan trigger these memories for its title character. It also creates a father-daughter parallel between Logan’s relationship with Rogue in the first X-Men film, and his connection with Laura/X-23 in the new movie.

That’s not the only parallel in this video. The death of Kayla Silverfox from the first Wolverine movie and Logan’s reluctant murder of Jean Grey in X-Men: The Last Stand are also revisted. It even flashes back to Logan’s memory loss at Stryker’s hands, and their subsequent reunion decades later in X2. Even the Weapon X moments from X2 and X-Men: Apocalypse were used, although they didn’t entirely synch up with each other. We blame X-Men: Days of Future Past for that one!

The video does offer some closure for Logan’s story, by ending on that hopeful moment between X-23 and Logan. It’s fitting that this chapter of the X-Men franchise is ending with Logan, since Jackman’s iconic character is probably the only one who remembers everything that happened in his previous movies!
