New LEGO DIMENSIONS Trailer Goes BACK TO THE FUTURE

It’s been a little over a month since we originally heard word that the LEGO group and Warner Bros. were joining forces to bring LEGO Dimensionswhich is set to hit PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U. September 27to us LEGO-loving gamers. We’ve no doubt seen our fair share of  LEGO titles, but it’s this one in particular, which merges physical brick building with console gameplay, that’s really got us excited. As of right now, we know that it will be bringing the likes of The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, DC Comics, The Wizard of Oz, Ninjago, and Back to the Future under one well-built roof.

The game’s newest live-action trailer, which you can view at the top of the page, features actor Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as Back to the Future‘s Doc Brown once more. A mysterious package arrives on his doorstep, and Doc gets straight to unraveling the mystery behind the tiny box. (WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!) (Sorry.) After wondering whether or not the box is an alien artifact, he opens it to discover a set of LEGOS. Let me just say, there is something wonderful about Lloyd holding up a LEGO version of himself and noting how handsome he is.

After physically building the set, Doc gets sucked into the game where along with his character we are also given a peek at several characters that will be making their way to LEGO Dimensions. Joining those that have already been shown off are Harley Quinn, Joker,  Superman, Aquaman, Doc Brown, Bane, and Sensei Wu. To get a better look at the figures, we’ve compiled them in the gallery down below.

According to the folks behind the game, the team packs and fun packs will include new buildable characters, vehicles, tools and gadgets in addition to in-game abilities. Also, “all expansion packs provide gamers the opportunity to use everything interchangeably, anywhere throughout the game, in any world with any character–there are no limitations.”
