Linkle’s announcement during the previous Nintendo Direct was a delightful surprise. Despite not having a chance to play as the female version of Link yet, everyone has already fallen in love with Nintendo’s newest character. From her awesome character design to the rad crossbows she wields, Linkle is a bonafide badass, and it just so happens that she plays like one as well. Koei Tecmo has released a brand new trailer for the 3DS title, Hyrule Warriors Legends, which shows our new green-clad heroine in action. Peep the magic above.

Linkle definitely looks like she can hold her own in the action department. Those crossbows look like they can wreak a whole lot of havoc. Though there are several other interesting characters included in this game, few have sparked the same amount of interest that Linkle has. Her addition alone will help sell many copies of this 3DS-exclusive title come March 25, 2016.

Hopefully this means she will become a more prominent character in the Zelda universe. I’d love a game with her as the main hero. Honestly, it would be a nice change of pace for the series. Plus, a female Link does make a whole lot of sense. Let us not forget that our hero is not always the same Link, so why is it not possible for one of the descendants of the main hero to be a female?
