Sometimes youâre just mindlessly scrolling through Twitter/practicing your nonverbal spells when something makes you jump with excitement.

WEâRE LISTENINGâ¦

Fellow Harry Potter fans, when we see something like this, we go to such a happy place we could probably produce a Patronus from a chopstick.
To celebrate this âepic” news, Pottermore.com has some insight from the playâs director, John Tiffany, and its writer, Jack Thorne. âObviously I loved it when we decided to tell this story in two parts, because I got to spend more time with the characters and what an honour that has been,â said Thorne.
âIâve never worked on anything quite like this before,” said Tiffany, âUsually in theatre youâre adapting existing material or creating an entirely new play. With the Cursed Child we have been given the unique opportunity to explore some of the most cherished books and beloved characters ever written, yet work with J.K. Rowling to tell a story from that world that no one yet knows â itâs exhilarating.â
They promise the play, which is based on original material, will try to match the âscale and ambitionâ of the novels.
Rowling has said Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is not a prequel, but it will delve into âthe previously untold story of Harry Potterâs early years as an orphan and outcast,â including more about Lily and James, Harryâs parents. Between this and the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, 2016 is setting up to be quite the year for Muggles and Wizards everywhere.
You can register for priority booking before tickets go on sale this fall; the show opens in London next summer.
