New GREEN ROOM Trailer Pits Punk Rockers vs. White Supremacists

Star Trek: The Next Generation and X-Men good guy Patrick Stewart doesn’t often get a chance to show off what he can do as a darker character. But the upcoming film Green Room is going to give Stewart another opportunity to demonstrate his range.

Green Room follows a punk rock band called The Ain’t Rights—including Pat (Anton Yelchin) and Sam (Alia Shawkat)—as they play a gig in a dive bar that goes horribly wrong. After The Ain’t Rights stumble upon a murder backstage—as depicted in the newly released trailer for the film—the club’s owner (Stewart) and his gang of white supremacists aim to stop the musicians from spreading the word about this gruesome discovery.

Despite being severely outnumbered and outgunned, The Ain’t Rights aren’t going down without a fight! The band and an enigmatic young woman named Amber (Imogen Poots) will make an attempt to escape with their lives, but that’s easier said than done. It should be noted that this is the red band trailer for Green Room, so expect a harder edge to the violence and a particularly memorable scene of an arm breaking onscreen.

Green Room was directed and written by Jeremy Saulnier, and it will open on April 1 in limited release before going wide on April 15. Back in October, Nerdist’s Scott Weinberg gave Green Room a very positive review at Fantastic Fest, which you can read here.
