Activision Releasing GHOSTBUSTERS Game Launching Alongside Film

Surprise! New scares are on the way.

A new Ghostbusters game is launching on July 12 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4– a few days before the upcoming all-female Ghostbusters film. Activision made the announcement earlier today with the above clip. Check it out!

If you’re not interested in the new movie, this game is not exactly tied to it. Well, maybe a little. It’ll take place after the occurrences of the film, with four new characters who must take care of business in New York while the vets are out touring the world, hunting down more prominent phantoms.

The game will run from an isometric perspective and will include plenty of RPG elements, as you’ll be able to upgrade your busting gear and character. Each character will also be completely unique and have their own jobs to do within the team. It’ll also feature couch co-op.

Despite all the (some what unwarranted) negative buzz surrounding the film, it’s exciting for this franchise as a whole to make a comeback. This game looks like it might be a lot of fun, especially with a few friends on a Friday night. Everyone needs to chill and realize that as fantastic as the original movies are, they’re still silly. We all need to give the new cast a fair shot before we start calling this entry in the franchise trash.

Here’s breakdown of the latest Ghostbusters trailer!

What do you guys think about this trailer? Does this look like something you’d play? Are you going to watch the movie? Let us know in the comments below!
