New GAME OF THRONES Video Explores White Walker Creation

As the sixth season of Game of Thrones approaches, the impending winter brings with it more than just snow. The White Walkers and their army of undead wights are also marching towards the Wall, and this might be the year that they finally descend upon Westeros, if a new featurette’s inclusion of the undead dudes is any indication—minor spoilers lie ahead!

HBO has released a new Game of Thrones video that explores the creation of the White Walkers with commentary by Barrie Gower, a prosthetic designer for the series. In the video, Gower relates the intense schedule of the actors portraying the White Walkers and the hours before and after filming that they have to endure to get into and out of their makeup.

Gower also shared his thoughts about the filming of the Battle of Hardhome in season five, which featured Game of Thrones’ most extensive White Walker battle to date. But somehow we suspect that even bigger conflicts lie ahead for the living and the dead on this series—do you notice where those White Walkers are breaking in? Sure does look like the home of the Three-Eyed Raven, doesn’t it?

Currently, the only main character north of the Wall is Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), which may mean that he’ll have to face his enemies outside of his visions as well as in. Game of Thrones‘ sixth season will premiere on Sunday, April 24 on HBO.

And while we’re here talkin’ Thrones, here are our thoughts on what season 6’s biggest battle may be:
