Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them introduced us all to Newt Scamander, Jacob Kowalski, and a variety of new characters and creatures. The return to the Wizarding World we know from Harry Potter was both familiar and fresh. Like its predecessor, Fantastic Beasts came to life with thoughtful production design, detailed costumes, and magical (yep) props. The world of 1920s New York was so expansive that Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood decided to renovate their Harry Potter exhibit area to include Fantastic Beasts.
They’ve spent three months putting together the exhibit, which is a stop on all studio tours, and it transitions from Harry Potter to Newt Scamander seamlessly. Nerdist attended a preview of the exhibit introduced by Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley). Amidst employees and attendees in period costumes serving drinks that looked like they were made in Potions class, Wright cast a spell to open the exhibit with Ginny’s wand–it was flown overseas from the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London for the occasion.
