New DISHONORED 2 Trailer Reveals Corvo’s Reason for Vengeance

One of my favorite reveals from Bethesda’s first E3 press conference  two years ago was the announcement of Dishonored 2. During this year’s show, we got a full gameplay trailer, heavily featuring Emily Kaldwin—who, unlike in the first game, will be playable this time around. Now, with the game’s launch less than two months away, the publisher has dropped a brand new gameplay trailer featuring our old buddy Corvo. It does reveal a big plot point from the first game, so if you were planning on playing that before diving into this one, you might want to stay away from the video at the top of the page.

“One more time, old friend,” utters Corvo as he puts his iconic mask back on for the first time in 15 years. The Royal Protector is back in action and ready to dive head first back into the chaos. His reason? an “otherworldly usurper” named Delilah has stolen the crown from Empress Emily Kaldwin, whom he was tasked with saving in the first game.

Dishonored 2 Delilah

The mysterious Outsider also makes a return, and comes bearing an ominous message. If Corvo wants to walk away with a piece of Delilah, he’s going to have to give up something (or someone) near and dear to him. By the look of the footage featured in the trailer, Corvo is in for quite the ride.

Despite being much older than the last time we saw him, the first game’s protagonist is looking stronger than ever. He’s clearly been honing his skills during the 15-year hiatus. His blink ability, for instance, is back, but now allows you to pause time as you choose your destination. A brand new ability called Possession allows Corvo to slip through an area unnoticed, and can be chained from host to host. Bend Time takes things a bit further by allowing you to completely control the flow of time, slowing and advancing it as you need. That’s just a taste of what you’ll be able to do as Corvo.

I can’t wait to put all of these to the test when Dishonored 2 hits Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 11.
