New DEADPOOL Clip Pits Angel Dust against Negasonic Teenage Warhead

In just a few weeks, comic book movie fans will be formally introduced to Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool. But Ryan Reynolds’ title character isn’t the only one being showcased in the film.

A newly released preview scene from the Deadpool movie features Wade Wilson (Reynolds), Colossus (Stefan Kapičić) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) as they team up to confront Ajax (Ed Skrein). But standing in their way is Angel Dust (Gina Carano), who easily swats Colossus aside. That sets up a fight between the two women, which Deadpool is probably enjoying a bit too much.

Now, I’m sure the question on your minds is “who the hell are Angel Dust and Negasonic Teenage Warhead?” Both of those ladies are so obscure that even hardcore X-Men fans would have a difficult time remembering who they are. At least Negasonic Teenage Warhead has appeared in the New X-Men comic during Grant Morrison’s run, but that was the same issue that she died! Her subsequent appearance in Joss Whedon and John Cassaday’s Astonishing X-Men turned out to be a hoax. She was a telepath and a precog in the comics, but she appears to be much stronger in the Deadpool film.

Angel Dust was actually one of the primary characters of the short-lived Morlocks comic who had super-strength and enhanced speed that caused weird lines to appear on her face. She was later depowered after Marvel’s House of M crossover and hasn’t resurfaced since. But given her appearance in the Deadpool movie, that will probably change in the near future.

Deadpool will open in theaters on Friday, February 12.
