New BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Reboot Comic Will Launch This Fall

Frak yeah, Battlestar Galactica fans! The Battlestar Galactica 2004 reboot universe is staging a comic book comeback this fall in a new series from Dynamite Entertainment. And it looks like Dynamite is revisiting the events of the second season with a brand new spin.

Dynamite has revealed that writer Karl Kesel and artist Alex Morgan will be the creative team of Battlestar Galactica: Gods and Monsters, which picks up some time during season 2. What we know for sure is that Baltar will take center stage as he creates “a living Cylon Centurion” that may be his greatest achievement or his biggest mistake. And for Baltar, that’s saying something!

“All the characters everyone loves are here – Sharon, Helo, Adama, Tigh, Roslin, D’anna, Apollo, and of course, Starbuck. And back on Caprica – Anders, Brother Cavil, and the rest of the Resistance fighters,” said Kesel in a press release. “Most importantly, we get to see Baltar go total ‘mad scientist’ and build a Cylon Centurion from battle-damaged parts.”

If Anders and the Resistance are still on Caprica, that would mean that this story occurs somewhere between episodes 8 and 19 from season 2, but there’s a lot of potential ground to cover in there.

Dynamite also passed along a few of Morgan’s character designs for the series, including his take on Baltar and Caprica Six.

Pete Woods (Action Comics) and Brett Schoonover (Back to the Future) also contributed covers for the first issue, which is scheduled to be released in November.
