New BATMAN V SUPERMAN Ads Fly to Gotham City and Metropolis

Have you ever wondered why anyone would travel to Gotham City and Metropolis in the DC Universe? Both cities are magnets for mayhem and supervillain violence. Gotham may even be a less desirable location to visit than Metropolis because the Joker and the various inhabitants of Arkham Asylum seem to escape on a weekly basis.

In two new ads for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Turkish Airlines neatly sidesteps the supervillain question by avoiding the subject completely. Instead, the ads appear to take place within the DC Extended Universe, as Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne makes a very public show of support for Gotham’s attempt to reinvent itself. Wayne’s costumed alter ego, Batman is only referred to as a “local celebrity.”

Metropolis also has its own Turkish Airlines ad in advance of the Super Bowl. After Man of Steel, Metropolis was in pretty bad shape. It’s almost as if a superpowered alien fought fellow survivors from his homeworld without any regard for keeping the city intact. No wonder Batman wants to kick Superman’s ass!

Because Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) isn’t really a celebrity in this world, the task of shilling for Metropolis falls to its favorite billionaire, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg)…whose hair is looking particularly mop-like. Surprisingly, Luthor seems to indicate that most of the destruction from Man of Steel has already been taken care of by a generous grant from his company.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released on March 25.

What did you think about the new Batman v Superman Turkish airline ads? Would you visit either one of these cities if given a chance? Let us know in the comment section below!
