New BATMAN Game Reveal Coming Tomorrow?

Tuesday, March 4th marks an interesting day in the world of gaming. Not only do we have the release of the comedy-infused RPG South Park: The Stick Of Truth to look forward to, but now there appears to be a possible Batman game announcement on the horizon.

Over the weekend,  Gamestop stores across the nation began receiving 75th anniversary Batman posters and are being instructed to hang them up tomorrow. The most plausible conclusion that we could draw for this was that Rocksteady Studios (the folks responsible for Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City) is getting ready to reveal their next installment in the Batman game series. It only makes sense: Rocksteady is long overdue to announce a new project, with Arkham City being nearly 3 years removed.

Another fun tidbit over which to speculate is the possible main villain of the next game. All signs point to the bandaged-face badass Hush getting some serious screen time in the next game, especially when you factor in this Facebook posting that was made on the Official Batman: Hush fanpage:

Interesting, they will get, indeed, Mr. Elliot, sir. What do you think about this possible new Batman game development? Let us know in the comments.

Who want to know what happen to the Arkham island in Batman Arkham Asylum and happen to the car of batman

  2. Mike lamb says:

Would it kill them to let us have a batmobile?

  3. AcerM says:

This could be DLC for Origins. There seems to be only an assumption that Rocksteady is involved.

  4. Shannon says:

    Rocksteady did not make Origins.

You’re totally right! So many of these Arkham Games, you get totally tongue-tied (if that’s even possible via keyboard haha)

I’ve played both Batman Arkham Asylum, and Arkham City, and both were PHENOMINAL games with City taking the cake. While I have yet to play Origins, I do have friends who say the game wasn’t as good as it’s previous titles. I do hope that this is a magnificent game if it’s released; hopefully with integration where we go outside of Arkham and plunge into Gotham as well. Don’t get me wrong, I did love the fact that we got a MASSIVE Arkham City, but I think it would be nice to explore Downtown Gotham there, also in addition it’d be nice for maybe the game to start you off as Bruce Wayne, leaving Wayne Tower to go home to his mansion, to begin a long night of fighting crime.

While Roger Craig Smith did an okay job as Batman, I really hope that they do slip Kevin Conroy back into the suit, just gives you the sense of “Alright, let’s go kick some butt tonight” with a well established voice and superhero.

Anyway, I can’t wait to see what this new announcement will be and if it’s a new game, I’ll see what it looks like with previews, look at the updates, watch a large handful of reviews, and then go on and see if I want to get the game.

Great news! Hopefully it’ll be less bugged than Arkham: Origins.

    • Malik Forté says:

Chances are it’s going back to Rocksteady, who developed the first two Arkham games. Origins, while still good, was a bit buggy and you can credit that partly to its development being outsourced to Warner Bros. Montreal.
