We’re less than two months away from the epic conclusion of the Batman: Arkham trilogy, and after a handful of delays, the question still remains: will this game be the finale that people need, or the finale that people deserve? The latest Arkham Knight trailer suggest that it will deliver on both fronts, bringing to light more of the gloom to be expected in the game’s story, a brand new feature to the Arkham series called “Dual Play”, and a screen that is sure to flap the wings of Batman fans everywhere. But don’t take my word for it:
No need to throw a temper tantrum, folks! Clearly that’s just a tranquilizer gun, and Batman isn’t going all Metal Slug on us. Perhaps this is one of the many reasons why this is the first M-rated Batman video game to date, and why some of the violence in this game may seem a bit heavier than in previous installments of the seriesâ or anything Batman-related for that matter.
Getting back to the new “Dual Play” feature, players will now be able to seamlessly transition between Batman’s playable alliesâwhich include Robin, Catwoman, and Nightwingâin the series’ signature FreeFlow combat. My guess is that this will exponentially multiply the amount of possibilities for players to utilize in the game’s fighting sequences, especially given Rocksteady’s pedigree for making intuitive and robust combat systems.
Batman Arkham: Knight is set to hit store shelves on June 23, 2015, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
