New ALIEN Mini Figurines Show the Silly Side of Xenomorphs

A lot of people were disappointed when they discovered the Alien prequel, Prometheus, would not include the iconic Xenomorph creatures from the franchise. No, even the people who made the movie have said that the one at the end doesn’t count as a Xenomorph. Thankfully, Japanese manufacturer Kotobukiya is looking to fill that Xeno-shaped void in your lives until Alien: Covenant is released by offering a look at the lighter side of these efficient killing machines.

Kotobukiya’s new line of Xenomorph miniature figurines, measuring about two and a half inches each, feature the “Big Chap” Xenomorph in various poses such as “yoga,” “daydream,” and one that definitely looks like it’s pooping (you’ll know it when you see it). It’s a fun way to get a laugh at the expense of a movie monster by imagining what a Xenomorph does besides killing. The figurines will be released in Japan in April of 2016, and are being sold for 800 Yen each, which equals about $6.50. That may seem a bit steep for a figurine that is barely over two inches tall, but take a look at what that $6.50 gets you:

One can only imagine what it was like for someone to pitch this idea to a toy manufacturer, but crazier things have been made before—especially in Japan. Seeing a Xenomorph breakdancing, doing yoga, or just lounging around is the type of concept one could expect from an episode of Robot Chicken, but to see officially licensed merchandise of this sort is something I personally would not have expected.

Check out the rest of the six poses in the gallery below, and let us know if you would pick up one of these ridiculous figurines if they ever made their way State-side.
