New 6-Inch Scaled Namco Arcade Machines Can Let Your Action Figures Play

New 6-Inch Scaled Namco Arcade Machines Can Let Your Action Figures Play

In the modern era of gaming, arcades are largely a relic of the past. Sure, there’s Dave and Busters, there are classic gaming expos, and occasionally well-stocked bars contain the classic games that repeatedly demand your quarters. But it just isn’t the same. However, fans of Namco‘s most famous games will soon have a chance to buy miniature recreations of the arcade cabinets that once dominated the gaming landscape.

FREEing has released photos and details for its upcoming 1/12 Scale Namco Arcade Machine Collection. The five miniature recreations will include Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Rally-X, and Tank Battalion. Surprisingly, Ms. Pac-Man‘s famous arcade cabinet didn’t make the cut this time, but perhaps FREEing will eventually get around to doing another Namco set.

In case anyone is wondering, these aren’t fully functional game machines. But they are very faithful recreations that capture almost every detail that went into these cabinets, including button and joystick placement as well as the original artwork on the boards and on the sides.

Because the recreations are in 1/12 scale, they’re the perfect size for 1/12 action figures to be posed nearby or positioned as if they were actually playing the games. These are decorative collectibles more than anything else. You can find pictures of the other miniatures in our gallery below.

The 1/12 Scale Namco Arcade Machine Collection is currently up for preorder, and each one will cost $32.99 plus shipping. The expected release date is February 2017.

What do you think about these arcade recreations? Line up your quarters and share your thoughts below!
