Netflix Releases JESSICA JONES’ David Tennant/Kilgrave Poster

Netflix has released a rad character poster of the sinister Kilgrave, played by David Tennant (Doctor Who and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), from its upcoming original Marvel series, Jessica Jones. Kilgrave is the main villain in the series who can control the minds of others and make them do whatever he asks them to do. He’s portrayed here with an appropriately sharp, forceful gaze.

Jessica Jones is highly anticipated as it’s based on the award winning comic book Alias, created by Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos. Jessica is the protagonist, played in this live-action series by the extremely versatile Krysten Ritter (she was Jesse’s girlfriend in Breaking Bad). Jessica is a superhero whose career ended tragically, though she picked herself back up and became a private investigator in New York City working for a company that deals with remarkable people. The show is advertised as being suspenseful, edgy, and character-driven, which should appeal to a broad mature audience beyond just comic book fans.

The series was created by Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote the screenplays for the Twilight films and was a writer and producer on Dexter, among other shows. Jessica Jones also stars the familiar faces of Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeryn Hogarth). The show received enthusiastic early reviews of the pilot episode that was shown at New York Comic-Con, so things are looking good! All thirteen episodes premiere on Netflix November 20.
