2014 marks thirty years since the release of one of the greatest movies of all time-I speak now of Ivan Reitman’s Ghostbusters, which remains one of the few movies I would qualify as pretty much perfect. To celebrate the occasion (not to mention Halloween) the UK based audio-visual crew known as Eclectic Method have made an homage with an all new remix of the classic Ghostbusters theme, by splicing together fragments of synths, programmed beats, and samples of famous quotes from the movie.
In the description of the video, Eclectic Method’s Jonny Wilson says “‘Itâs Halloween, and itâs been 30 years since Ghostbusters was released, so Iâm hitting two bats with one pumpkin with this Ghostbusters remix; Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroydâs classic gets the rewindâ¦..streams are crossed, Zuul prepares us for the coming of Gozer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow man appears in all his guises.”
If the name Eclectic Method sounds familiar, it’s because they’ve made similar movie themed remixes before, including ones for Bill Murray movie quotes, Star Wars (both Yoda and Darth Vader) Wes Anderson and John Hughes movies, and most famously, Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street, for which they did their “Chest Thump Mix”. The group, which consists of  Jonny Wilson, Geoff Gamlen, and Ian Edgar, started over ten years ago in London, and having been making remixes ever since. You can check out all their remixes here, but before you do that, check out their amazing Ghostbusters remix video down below.
