A pod in a diner isn’t cute. It doesn’t make it sound more intimate. The sound of slamming cash drawers , people ordering their food , bus boys stacking plates , glassess getting replaced by the dishwasher….all irritating as hell. I wanted to scream to shut the hell up to the people making all the noise. Even a freeway underpass would have been better. I really wanted to hear this , sounded like trash though so I had to shut it off before half way. Come on folks , you can do better. Tell every pod that ever thought it was quaint that it isn’t. You are an audio media , extra background noise…..never a good thing , get a clue people. Terrible , like a 12 year old doing a pod in his school lunchroom.

I assure you, this wasn’t an attempt to be “cute,” Ralph. Sometimes I’m faced with getting an interview in a less-than-ideal place, particularly outside of LA, or not getting an interview at all. I love Fargo enough to want to talk with its creator, so I chose to do the interview where FX PR dictated and at a time that was convenient for him.
There’s a lot going on behind the scenes to get these interviews. Sometimes compromises have to be made if the alternative is not getting the interview at all.
