Nerdist Theater at Meltdown Roundup

Hello again, and welcome to the post where I tell you about the amazing things happening at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown, or NerdMelt, this coming week. Shall I begin with Saturday?

Saturday, April 9th, we have Anamanaguchi playing a headlining gig. You know, Anamanaguchi, who wrote the song “Jetpack Blues, Sunset Hues”, the Nerdist podcast theme? Yup, those guys. The show is at 8pm (doors at 7pm), they’re bringing  and it’s $8 in advance, $10 at the door. This show will sell out, so get your tickets now.

Sunday, April 10th, 826LA is back with the next run of their Adult Writers Seminar Series. Each week they bring in some of the best TV writers in existence to talk about writing, success, failure, and everything else. Then they take questions. This week, we’ve got Jen Kirkman, Bob Odenkirk, and Brian Stack. Tickets are just $12, and they do sell out early. Get them here!

On Monday, April 11th, it’s Adam WarRock! Geek emcee Adam WarRock brings his brand of Silver Age Hip Hop to NerdMelt, where he’ll rap about Marvel and DC comics, Doctor Who, and other geek touchstones. He’s joined by hilarious comedian Baron Vaughn. Tickets are just $10- get them here!

Wednesday, April 13th brings you another week of The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail. Kumail finally returns from his two week trip to the UK and will bring the spoils of his travels to the audience, and Jonah and Kumail welcome Rory Scovel, David Huntsberger, Megan Ganz, Matt Besser, Amy Schumer, and The Sklar Brothers! Tickets are $8 as always!

And finally, on Thursday April 14th, we celebrate the release of Rob Schrab’s book “..But I Can’t Do Anything Else!” with a rollicking standup/art extravaganza! Rob Schrab, the mind behind Scud the Disposable Assassin and The Sarah Silverman Program, has put out a book of all of his projects that never saw the light of day, so it’s time to party. Join host Steve Agee, Harris Wittels, Eric Acosta, Dan Harmon, Kumail Nanjiani, and a special guest or two. Plus there will be robots. Tickets are $10 or, if you buy the book from Meltdown, you get in free! Details here!

Follow us on Twitter at @NerdMelt, and I’ll be back next Friday to fill you in on shows coming up next week!
