Nerdist News Talks To Michael Ian Black About His New Book, And Snacks

You know Michael Ian Black as the excitable yet loveable co-host of the world-renowned podcast Mike and Tom Eat Snacks on the Nerdist Podcast Network. But it turns out that MATES is not the only thing Mr. Black has done in his career. After extensive research (which is to say, no research at all), we’ve determined that he’s been an actor, comedian, and writer for a long time, from The State and Stella to Ed (with his MATES mate Tom Cavanaugh) and his memorable turn as Johnny Blue Jeans on Viva Variety. He’s even written some well-received children’s books. And now he’s written his second book for adults, which is being published… today.

You’re Not Doing It Right: Tales of Marriage, Sex, Death, and Other Humiliations” is a memoir that examines the route Michael Ian Black took to being, well, Michael Ian Black, husband, father, and adult, told with characteristic humor and honesty. Plus, there’s a story in which a Creed song plays a part, so there’s that.

Our siblings at the Nerdist News newsletter got a chance to talk to Michael about the book and more stuff, including the possibility of a State reunion, working with others, and his favorite snack. They’ve posted the entire interview, and you can read it by clicking here. (While you’re there, sign up for the newsletter if you haven’t yet done so) Read the interview and buy the book today. Have a Snickers while you do it. That’s always a good idea.
