The Lone Ranger opens today, and there’s a lot of curiosity about how the venerable masked man and his sidekick Tonto will translate into the Bruckheimer-Verbinski universe of adventure, explosions, and charismatic Johnny Depp characters, especially since Depp is playing Tonto, not the titular hero.
