Nerdist and Geek & Sundry’s Alpha Launches iOS App

The way in which our entertainment is thrust into our eyes, brains, and hands changes almost daily. How we enjoyed stuff on the Information Superhighway (a very old-timey term) even two years ago isn’t exactly how we do it today. And as great as viewing great content on a traditional web browser still can be, sometimes you just need the ease, simplicity, and design aesthetic of an app. Well, Apple users who enjoy the entertainment provided by Legendary Digital Networks’ Alpha standalone membership video platform, your day has arrived.

That’s right: there is finally, at long last, an official iOS app for Alpha. The Alpha iOS app will provide users with mobile access to their favorite Nerdist and Geek & Sundry programs, including shows available exclusively on Alpha such as VAST Season 2 (a live space role-playing game developed and designed by comic book creator Jackson Lanzing), an extended version of Talks Machina (the talk show based on Geek & Sundry’s hit series, Critical Role), Crafting Comics with Jim Higgins (a how-to show about creating comic books), and Alpha Book Club (an online book club hosted by our own beloved Editor-in-Chief, Rachel Heine, Geek Bomb’s Maude Garrett, and Geek & Sundry’s Hector Navarro).

But those are only some of the shows you’ll be getting at your very fingertips! Starting in June, a new slate of programs will be released to the Alpha platform, and Alpha members also receive event-based perks like special party invitations, meet and greets, and more. Want more? Okay! How about Alpha members receive 10% off everything on the Alpha store, access to live streams, forums, chat rooms, and much more? How’s that grab ya?

The Alpha iOS App can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and new Alpha members receive a 30-day free trial. After the trial is over, users will be able to continue their membership through a monthly price of $4.99 or an annual price of $49.99.

And Android users, don’t fret! We’re thinking about you, too. The Alpha Android app is currently in development and expected to launch later this year. Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait! You can download the Alpha app here, or in the iOS app store!
