Nerdist #Conival Deep Fried Oreos for SDCC

In case you haven’t heard, Nerdist is taking over Comic-Con, and you don’t even need a badge to attend! Along with Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry and Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, we’ll have guests, games, and more at Petco Park when we unveil our Nerdist Conival!

Even if you aren’t heading down to San Diego, you can still enjoy all the fun and fabulous Con-like atmosphere at home by making your very own Nerdist Deep Fried Oreos. No Conival is complete without something sweet, fried, and heavily dusted with powdered sugar. This is our edible Conival masterpiece. Conival Deep Fried Oreos recipe-07062015

Nerdist Deep Fried Oreos
(makes 36)
ingredients:
-1-1/2 cups pancake mix
-1 cup whole milk
-1 egg
-2 teaspoon vanilla
-pinch of salt
-36 individual (1 package) Oreos
-oil for frying
-powdered sugar for dusting

Prep a deep fryer if you’re using one or heat 2-inches of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

In a bowl mix together the pancake mix, whole milk and egg, until just combined.

Dip the cookies into the batter one at a time, tossing to coat.

Carefully place only 5 battered Oreos at a time into the hot frying oil. Cook until golden-brown on both sides, then let cool and drain on a wire rack.

Cut out the Nerdist logo and place over the cookie. Dust with powdered sugar, remove the paper logo and serve.
