Nerdist Channel Panel, SDCC, Saturday, Noon. Go!

Why should you always listen to us when we tell you to come out to Nerdist events? Friday night’s Nerdist Podcast Live is one great example. You’ll hear the show on the podcast all right, but only the folks who heeded our call and came out to the Balboa Theatre know just how phenomenal it was, or why the word “phenomenal” is appropriate. John Barrowman has no filter, and bless him for that, because he was flat out hilarious. Gary Dell’Abate also dropped by for some frank talk about radio and producing the Howard Stern show, and we stuck around until everyone who wanted an autograph, picture, or hug from Chris, Matt, and Jonah got one.

Why am I mentioning this? Simple: If you’re at San Diego Comic-Con International Saturday, you should be queuing up at the Hilton Bayfront’s Indigo Ballroom for the Nerdist Channel panel hosted by Chris at noon Pacific. Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson will be there to preview the video version of Star Talk. Gary will tell you more about They Call Me Baba Booey. Alex Albrecht and Alison Haislip, fresh off a live taping of 4 Points will be there as well, and if you like cosplay, Just Cos‘ Chloe Dykstra will be on hand along with Holly Conrad and Jessica Merizan, the incredibly talented costumers seen in Morgan Spurlock’s Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope. Seriously, if it’s before noon and you’re at the Con, just go to the Hilton now. Go in early and you’ll see panels for Attack of the Show (featuring Matt) and Geek and Sundry, and why wouldn’t you want to see those, too? But definitely come out for the Nerdist Channel presentation. Don’t miss out again.

As for the rest of you, remember, we have live dates coming up in Houston on July 20th, Dallas on July 21st, and New York on October 12th. Best get tickets right now.

It looks like they’re recreating the promotional photo from “Journey’s End”. Matt is Sarah Jane, Baba Booey is The Doctor, John is …duh, Chris is actually The Doctor from some other promotional shot, and Jonah is …um …Sasquatch?

  2. Matt Grandis says:

I guess it’s all but official that Chris totally ruled SDCC. The love pouring in via Twitter practically put the CUNT out of it’s job. So I’ve decided that before the CUNT dries out completely, I would give it the Global Love and Admiration for Nerdist society (GLANS). Behold @GLANSoffice. I’ll make it pretty when I’m home tonight.

I had a blast guys. so much more Awsum being there in person. wonder how some of it will even translate into audio.

  4. McFeely says:

@Tavaris I think Chris knows better than to keep this from us lol

unless he wants to see this 50 times a day

@Nerdist hey is the John Barrowman ep going up soon????

  5. Tavaris says:

Man I hope they put this up.

  6. Aaron says:

For those who weren’t there, the only way to describe this epic show would be “completely out of control”.

It should have been titled: John Barrowman: Unhinged

Seriously, he was way the fuck out of control, but in an utterly hilarious if not insanely inappropriate way. And that’s why I’m a new fan of this guy.

  7. Stephen says:

The dueling masturbation miming was the BEST!
