Nathan Fillion Picks Booster Gold as Dream Superhero Role

Wizard World Comic Con Chicago happened this weekend, and the above gem is just one bit of fun to come out of the event. During a fan Q&A sit-down with Firefly pals Adam Baldwin and Summer Glau, the delightful Captain Tight Pants, I mean Nathan Fillion, was asked what superhero he would like to play from across all the comic universes.

(It is pretty awesome that Fillion has managed to cross universes playing roles in both the DC and Marvel Cinematic Universes playing both an animated Green Lantern and a criminal in Guardians of the Galaxy.)

Fillion answered that Booster Gold would be his pick. He even quipped to the audience, “That’s kind of my niche… show-offy, vain. I think I could handle that… not too bright.” Both the audience and his friends on the interview couch were entertained by the sass.

If you’re not familiar, Booster Gold is a member of the Justice League known as a glory-seeker from the future known for showing off and using his knowledge of history and the future to set himself up for heroic adventures. He was created by Dan Jurgans and first appeared in Booster Gold #1 before coming back the following year as a member of the Justice League. While the description may not appear all that heroic, the character was allowed to develop and become the hero he needed to be.

The dream characters didn’t stop with Booster Gold, though. Fillion turned the question on his Q&A friends next. Glau chose She-Ra (totally awesome btw), but Baldwin couldn’t name one. I’m not sure if that means he’s not as familiar with the superhero world or if he just didn’t want to name his choice. I really liked this question, though. I’m hoping that more fans ask this kind of question at convention. Personally, I’m in Glau’s camp. Who doesn’t want to be She-Ra?

Tell me your superhero dream role in the comments below!
