MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 ‘Bots Get the Funko Pop! Treatment

For many of us who came of age in the ’90s, it was the crew of the Satellite of Love on Mystery Science Theater 3000 that taught us the true meaning behind the concept of “so bad it’s good.” The saga of a poor janitor stuck in space forced to riff on terrible movies showed us that comedy gold could be mined from even the worst films ever committed to celluloid. Now the characters from MST3K, which recently returned to the airwaves for the first time in years thanks to Netflix, are joining the Funko family.

The toys were first announced as coming at London Toy Fair back in January, and thanks to the official Funko blog we know now that the first two official MST3K Pop!s heading our way will be faithful robot companions Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo. No sign of Gypsy so far, but I imagine it won’t be long before she answers the “robot roll call” and gets the Funko Pop! treatment. The first pair of MST3K Pop!s are set to arrive sometime in October.

So what about the other characters from the show? Hopefully we’ll also see the human characters on the show, like hosts Mike Nelson and/or Joel Hodgson, and the “Mads”–Dr. Clayton Forrester, TV’s Frank, and Pearl Forrester. Then you can surround yourself with mini versions of the Satellite of Love crew and make fun of cheesy movies yourself ’til your heart’s content. You can check out images of the the Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo Pop!s in our gallery below.

Are you as excited as we are about the latest additions to the Funko family? Be sure to let us know down below in the comments.
