Music Meister May Be in THE FLASH and SUPERGIRL Musical Episodes

How slowly will time pass until the air dates for the The Flash and Supergirl musical crossover episodes (plural!) are here? The slowest. And yes, I measure the passage of time with television events. Don’t judge. We’ll discuss that crossover in today’s TV-Cap along with sharing photos from Ash vs Evil Dead and The Last Man on Earth, talking about Legion and the X-Men movies, and more.

Villainous Entertainment. When Buffy the Vampire Slayer had a musical episode, there was a demon involved. When The Flash and Supergirl musical crossover happens, something similar could trigger singing and dancing, and it just so happens there’s a DC character fit for the task: Music Meister. Series executive producer Andrew Kreisberg talked with Collider about how they’re planning to make the musical work and said: “The musical will just be awesome. It’s gonna be fun. It’s funny, we have villains that can split the earth in half. We have villains that can run at the speed of light. What’s so crazy about a villain that can make you think your friends are singing and dancing in front of you?” The Music Meister, introduced in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, has mind controlling powers, so he’d be a good possible match. Cracking Up. It’s amusing to watch people break character because they can’t keep laughter in any longer. I like seeing people when they’re so happy they can’t contain it. And those moments are on display in this montage video from Saturday Night Live released by the YouTube channel KateMcKinnonTV. It’s delightful. You can watch another montage reel right this way at Nerdist.

Eyes on You. Who’s keeping an eye on the survivors in Fox’s The Last Man on Earth? This season three cast photo makes you wonder, but you’ll have to wait until the series comes back on September 25 to find out the answer and to learn the resolution of the season two cliffhanger. Dammit, Baltar. The world of Battlestar Galactica is returning with fresh tales in a new comic book series from Dynamite Entertainment. Written by Karl Kesel with art from Alex Morgan, the story, Battlestar Galactica: Gods and Monsters, takes place during season two of the television series as Baltar creates a “living Cylon Centurion.” That sounds like it will go well. See some art from the comic and learn more here at Nerdist.

Independent but Not. FX’s upcoming X-Men series Legion will relate to future X-Men movies. Sort of. Series creator Noah Hawley has said the show will be independent of the films, but X-Men movie director Bryan Singer made comments at the Edinburgh Television Festival that confuse the matter. He said the show is “part of the X-Men universe, but when you watched it, you wouldn’t have to label it, it could exist completely on its own.” To me, that sounds like Legion fits within the universe we know but doesn’t necessarily influence anything, so his words line up with what Hawley’s been saying. How do you interpret the statement? [The Hollywood Reporter]

Epic Poses. Dramatic cast pictures are here for season two of Starz’s Ash vs Evil Dead. Ash and co. will continue the fight against Deadites when the show returns on October 2, and it looks like they’ll be doing so in perfect lighting. See additional cast photos at IGN. [Images: Starz]

Play the Game. Why limit yourself to watching Con Man when you can play the game? Fans of the web series starring Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion can download the free Con Man: The Game on iTunes and Google Play and design and build their very own conventions while considering aspects such as aliens, plentiful restrooms, and more. By the Numbers. Netflix’s viewership stats aren’t publicly available, but according to Symphony Advanced Media, Stranger Things ranks high. It apparently came in third in viewership in its first 35 days, averaging just over 14 million viewers in the category of adults 18-49. Symphony apparently uses audio recognition to measure programming viewership across devices, which I don’t want to over think right now because it creeps me out. [Deadline]

Learning Experience. Go back to season one of Game of Thrones. Remember when we first learned what the Dothraki were capable of in “The Pointy End?” Relive in the latest Game of Thrones Re-Throned with Michael.

Make a wish list of which DC characters you want to see in The Flash and Supergirl musical episodes and leave it in the comments.
