Music Geek Track Of The Week: The Nights, “Lonely Soul (Nowhere To Run)”

All right, ya crazy nerds, let’s get it out of the way, now… the only reason I know this song exists is because I heard it while watching that show I can’t decide if I love or hate, Under The Dome. This was one of the songs that the local radio station played in the background while they were trying to figure out why this invisible devil dome dropped out of the sky and decided to trap this already severely messed up town inside. Just goes to show that even fake towns in the middle of nowhere have decent taste in music, especially when they play bands like The Nights and their song “Lonely Soul, Nowhere To Run” (I think it’s a metaphor?).

The Nights remind me A LOT of MGMT. Their funky, psychedelic tunes leave me nostalgic for that time when MGMT made catchy music you could tap your feet to. I hope you enjoy these tunes just as much as the poor citizens in that CBS show….
