On the Fourth of July, Childish Gambino dropped his new free mixtape, Royalty. He brought together a cornucopia of artists to collaborate with him for this album: The likes of Beck, Danny Brown, Haim, RZA and Bun B make appearances. The most surprising however, is none other than Nerdist Podcast alum and beautiful genius, Tina Fey.
The song Real Estate itself is solid. It’s a bit long – close to six minutes – not to mention that it’s the final track of the mixtape, though Gambino definitely saved the best for last. Tina comes on at around 4:57, and drops a few F-bombs, which just sound too damn adorable.
^^^^Probably hasn’t heard a rap song in a decade per the hpnotiq reference.
Track is one of the worst on the tape. Only posted because of the Fey feature…smh
Wow! It really has been a decade since hypnotiq! Way to make me feel old.
But yeah, this is here because of the Fey feature for sure. Best tracks on the album are RIP, American Royalty, and Toxic. Danny Brown kills it!
I’m proud to hear us rapping about real estate and whiskey instead of chains and hypnotique.
(*sp on hypnotique? I guess in the time I typed all of this out I could have just opened a new tab and checked the spelling…)
Tina is the icing on the cake. Nordstrom racks on racks like a G.
The track is noice! It’s- long but it’s rolling on that southern thing. Slow and steady.
