Music Geek Track Of The Week: “Is Your Love Big Enough?”

There comes a time in everyone’s life when it’s appropriate to tell an embarrassing story about yourself. For me, that time is now.

When I was working at Billboard Music, the closest I ever came to attacking a musician was when we interviewed John Legend. It took every bone and every ounce of strength in my body to keep myself together. From the outside, I probably looked like a vibrating crazy person, because on the inside I believed I proposed to him 600 times. Alas, I’m still not married to John Legend, so I’ll have to find another human whose voice sounds like butter.

Anyway, my point is that I believe I have found the female John Legend. So all you gentlemen out there who are seduced by voices that sound like ice cream on a hot summer day, I present to you Lianne La Havas.

I’ve been following her ever since she opened for Bon Iver during a short segment of his tour this year. She completely blew me away with her EP, Lost & Found. So, when “Is Your Love Big Enough?” was released in July, I knew it would only be a matter of time before I would be telling everyone I’ve ever met and the entire Nerdist community about it.

Pretty sure that this was an iTunes freebee a few weeks ago. Not exactly completely under the radar. That said, not a bad track. Enjoyable. word.
