Music Geek Track of the Day: ‘You’ by LLLL

WOW. “You” by the Tokyo-based group LLLL is the kind of sublime synth composition that instantly conjures nostalgia for a place that you have never explicitly been. By the time those clipped and compressed vocal noises punch holes in the lid of this song, I am no longer an earth dweller–for some reason, this track takes me deep into a stratosphere of billowy amber clouds.

“You” is the first singe from LLLL’s debut full length, Paradice, which will be released via California-based label, ZOOM LENS. For good measure, the ethereal synth pop/shoegaze label’s mission statement includes the sentence, “Fuck Real Life.” And in every way possible, the Japan-centric label’s artists, including LLLL, sound like they are not on our plane of reality. There is definitely a lot more exploring to with all their releases.

If you dig “You,” do yourself a favor and check out the rest of LLLL’s debut full length album here. *Highly* recommend.
