Music Geek Track of the Day: Pedro Pascal and Heidi Klum Burn Down A House In Sia’s ‘Fire Meet Gasoline’

When there’s a new Sia song, you know you’re in for something dramatic. On her new single “Fire and Gasoline”, Sia uses simple backbeats to emphasize a subtle but powerful chorus with sharp drumming and notes meant to be belted from your car. Her raspy vocals are a natural fit for the catostrauphic nature of the lyrics. “It’s dangerous to fall in love, but I want to burn with you tonight,” she sings. “The pleasure’s pain and fire; burn me.” The bond between one couple is brought out more by the flame-fanning splash of gasoline, growing louder while a soft chorus of vocalists coo behind Sia. It’s a bold track. But how could you expect anything less?

The song’s music video, however, is one giant promotion for Heidi Klum’s Heidi Klum Intimates line. In fact, it’s not even Sia’s official video. That just makes it all the better. Opening shots of an empty house during nighttime sets up for what looks like an uber creepy horror film. By the time Sia’s vocals begin, we see Heidi Klum get rescued by…hold up, Pedro Pascal aka IRL OBERYN MARTELL? Well, this just got a lot more interesting. Good to see the that the Red Viper from Dorne is alive and well, even if he is in this excessively dramatic and highly stylized commercial for Klum.

Even while she and Pascal pour buckets of gasoline inside the house, everything looks incredibly beautiful. Sure, their makeout session gets paired with shots of the house on fire, but keep your eyes on the screen. Klum, or who we can only assume is her, dawns that iconic blonde wig as she runs out of the burning building, tossing it over her head just in time to be embraced by countrified Oberyn.
