Music Geek Track Of The Day: ‘Bad Law’ by Sondre Lerche

Sondre Lerche, you baby-faced cutie-pie, somehow you’ve managed to stay relevant since I was a freshman in high school. I remember burning Two Way Monologue onto a blank CD and listening to “Days That Are Over” on repeat in my little red Chevy crossover driving to my ex-boyfriend’s parent’s house. It was a simpler time, for all of us.

Today we can’t get enough of Sondre Lerche’s new track “Bad Law”, the first single from his upcoming album Please. It’s a song fueled from a recent divorce from director Mona Fastvold,  if you can’t tell by the title and specific lyrics depicting a breakup. Leave it to Lerche to generate one of the most triumphantly upbeat breakup songs of all time. Bad Law is flirty, fun and makes me miss my little Chevy, but definitely not my ex-boyfriend.

Though the breakup was sure to sting, Lerche recently won for best score of the Sundance hit, The Sleepwalker, directed by his ex-wife. The score is haunting and suspenseful, which was a surprising turn from his typical sunshine-y style. Only good things to come for Sondre Lerche, and we can’t wait to hear!
