Music, Art, Charity, Together

Our artist friend Dana Lechtenberg — the guy responsible for that great artwork for the Nerdist Podcast Live shows — is involved in a project about which you should know, so here you go: It’s called Secret 7″, it’s being conducted over at Talenthouse, and it involves seven recording artists inviting people to create artwork for 7-inch sleeves inspired by one of their songs for special vinyl singles that will be displayed in London and sold to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The artists involved include The Cure, Florence and the Machine, DJ Shadow, Ben Howard, CSS, Noah and the Whale, and Bombay Bicycle Club, and it’ll all culminate on Record Store Day, April 21st.

The Cure’s selection is “Friday I’m in Love,” and Dana’s created this artwork for the project. Submissions are due by Tuesday (January 10th), followed by public voting January 11-17 and the selection of 45 winners, whose designs will be printed and sold and who will get signed copies of their designs, on February 7th; five “people’s choice” winners from the popular vote will also get the signed copies and display on a website.

Wanna support Dana? The voting starts on the 11th, and you can click here to do that. And if you want to get involved in the designs for the other artists, you’ll find all the links here.
