MR. ROBOT Gets an Extended Trailer, More Episodes, After Show

We’re getting closer and closer to the second season premiere of last year’s surprise hit Mr. Robot from USA, and Thursday we get a whole lot of interesting tidbits about where the show will go following the Five/Nine hack. If you thought fsociety was gonna be riding high on the success of the first season finale, then you really haven’t been paying attention. Shiz is getting way, way scarier and all the work they’ve done appears to be for naught. As we see in the extended teaser from Buzzfeed, Elliot’s going to have a brand new nemesis.

That new antagonist for the fsociety people is Agent DiPierro played by Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gummer. She seems hellbent on taking down fsociety and seems completely unwilling to “f” around. We also see Angela (Portia Doubleday) getting skeeved on hardcore by one of her new evil bosses, and Darlene (Carly Chaikin) sobbing in a heap on the floor somewhere. Also, we have no idea where Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom) is, but we’re way more concerned about why his even evil-er wife Joanna (Stephanie Corneliussen) has blood all over her face like a tiger who’s just killed its prey. It’s looking pretty bleak, especially with the President of the GD United States calling them out. Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) is right…fsociety DOES need a leader, but maybe Elliot (Rami Malek) isn’t the one to do it.

But it looks like we’ll have even longer to relish the torment and despair! Yay! Deadline reported that USA has extended the season order of the show from 10 episodes to 12, all of which will be directed by series creator Sam Esmail. And–go figure–USA has also announced there will be an after show for Mr. Robot, fittingly titled Hacking Robot, because there can’t be a hit show on cable now without some kind of after program to discuss it.

Either way, we’re way excited for the two-episode season premiere of Mr. Robot coming July 13! Let us know what you think of all this in the comments below!
