Movie Morsels: WONDER WOMAN Director Shares New Set Photo

It’s been a little while since we’ve heard anything new about Warner Bros.’ much-anticipated Wonder Woman. But in today’s Movie Morsels we get a promising update from the film’s director herself. Plus, the latest X-Men: Apocalypse featurette, a red band trailer for Daniel Radcliffe’s farting corpse movie, and much more!

Wonder Woman

While I stand among the many who were disappointed with the recent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I remain optimistic about the future of that film’s Wonder Woman. Never more so then after reading a series of tweets from director Patty Jenkins on the character’s solo film debut. The first woman to helm a DC superhero movie, Jenkins is ebullient in her praise of stars Gal Gadot (as the Amazon Princess Diana) and Chris Pine (as her paramour Steve Trevor), and shares a photo from the film’s set of Gadot, Pine, and the crew…

X-Men: Apocalypse

The latest featurette focusing on an X-Men: Apocalypse character is devoted to James McAvoy’s Professor Charles Xavier, better known to Marvel maniacs as Professor X, founder of the X-Men. Can McAvoy make bald as sexy as Sir Patrick Stewart, his predecessor in the role? Here’s what the Scottish actor has to say about his third time playing the world’s greatest mutant telepath…

Wraiths of the Broken Land

Ridley Scott

While its title might be a bit of a mouthful for some folks, director Ridley Scott’s next film (after completing Alien: Covenant) has just been announced. Wraiths of the Broken Land, a Western based on the acclaimed novel, will be adapted by Drew Goddard, Scott’s collaborator on The Martian. No word yet on who will star, but since Scott has never before helmed a bonafide old-school Western, and since The Martian proved Goddard and Scott are ideal creative partners, I’m very much looking forward to seeing what he brings to the genre.

The God Particle

Daniel Bruhl

The latest and arguably greatest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: Civil War, is cleaning up at the box office after its release last week. But among all its flashy costumed champions (slugging it out in the best superhero battle ever put on screen) actor Daniel Brühl holds his own in a comparatively quiet, though no less memorable, role. Small wonder then that the German star (pictured above in Inglourious Basterds) is in talks to co-star, alongside Daisy Ridley, in the the J.J. Abrams-produced science-fiction drama The God Particle.

Swiss Army Man

Finally today… If you’re a Daniel Radcliffe fan, you’ve no doubt heard about the English actor’s most outlandish role ever: that of a farting corpse taken under the wing of There Will Be Blood star Paul Dano in the divisive Sundance Film Festival phenomenon Swiss Army Man. Now you can experience the full weirdness of this sure-fire indie cult classic, with the film’s red band trailer. Enjoy. And don’t say we didn’t warn you!
