Movie Morsels: Tom Hiddleston in New CRIMSON PEAK Featurette, Martin Freeman Talks CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Our Monday is looking scarier than ever with the latest behind-the-scenes featurette from Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak. In today’s Movie Morsels, we’ve also got a new Fantastic Four TV spot, updates on Captain America: Civil War and Frozen 2, and a new clip from American Ultra!

Crimson Peak

As is typical for Guillmero del Toro, it looks like the director has poured every ounce of himself into the lush, detailed gothic design of his period thriller Crimson Peak. You can get a heady dose of said design in the film’s latest behind-the-scenes featurette, with stars Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, and Jessica Chastain, as well as the writer-director himself. Crimson Peak lands on October 16th.

Captain America: Civil War

So who does Martin Freeman play in next year’s eagerly awaited Captain America: Civil War? The actor offers a few clues in a new interview with BadTaste. It

“He works for the American government. He works in conjunction with the superheroes, and certain agencies that help to tame the superheroes’ power, I suppose. So you’re not quite sure which side he’s on. It looks a little bit like he’s playing one game when actually he’s playing another. It’s the kind of character I like because it’s ambiguous and because you don’t know whether he’s good or bad. I like that area that isn’t black or white, I like the grays, because I think there’s just more fun to be had in not playing one obvious line.”

Captain America: Civil War
stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Rudd, and is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The film opens on May 6, 2016 in both 3D and IMAX.

Frozen 2

Josh Gad, who followed up his turn in Broadway’s The Book of Mormon with a breakout voice acting role as summertime-loving snowman Olaf in Disney’s Frozen, offers an update on the blockbuster’s sequel in a new interview, whilst promoting his upcoming live-action Pixels (due out on July 24th). Again directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, Frozen 2‘s release date has yet to be determined but stars Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel are also expected to return.

Fantastic Four

There’s a fair amount of new footage to be found in the latest TV spot for Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell. Though I’m still not sold on the idea of the Thing running around without shorts. It’s just that I’ve seen him wear shorts too many times for me to regard his look without shorts as anything other than buck naked. Ah well… The Josh Trank-directed, Simon Kinberg-scripted film opens on August 7th.

American Ultra

Jess Eisenberg’s drug-loving protagonist has, to his extreme paranoia and dismay, just killed two dudes in the latest clip from the action comedy American Ultra. Co-starring Kristen Stewart, Connie Britton, Topher Grace, John Leguizamo, Monique Ganderton, Bill Pullman, Walton Goggins, and Tony Hale, and directed by Nima Nourizadeh, the film bows on August 21st.
