Batman: The Killing Joke
One of the most famous, and controversial, Batman stories of all time will soon get the animated feature treatment, as Warner Brothers Home Entertainment prepares its adaptation of writer Alan Moore and artist Brian Bolland’s The Killing Joke. X-Men: Apocalypse
In other superhero news… Bryan Singer says X-Men: Apocalypse could be longer than his other X-Men movies, and that we’ll get to see a moment in the film’s upcoming trailer that, befitting the film’s status as a capstone to two trilogies, pays homage to all that has come before…
At the San Pedro International Film Festival, the director remarked, “The cut’s a little long right now, but I think it’s going to be a longer X-Men movie. The X-Men movies I usually I keep under two hours, but this one I may actually let be a longer movie because it’s sort of a wrap-up of six movies. It’s kind of a wrap up of X-Men 1, 2, 3, First Class, Days of Future Past, and there’s even an homage at the end, a scene. It’s going to get spoiled because they decided to use it in the trailer which comes out in like six months, but it’s a really cool trailer. But it’s kind of a wrap up of six movies. So, it might run a little bit long.â€

The Expendables 4
They don’t call him Sly for nothing… Having secured Chinese investors, Sylvester Stallone’s all-star action franchise is officially getting a fourth installment. With a budget of over one hundred million, The Expendables 4 will begin shooting in 2016 for a 2017 release. A director and cast have yet to be announced.

The Glass Castle
It looks like Brie Larson will be replacing her fellow acclaimed young actress Jennifer Lawrence in the indie drama The Glass Castle. The film is adapted from the autobiography of Jeannette Walls, which focuses on the author’s “upbringing in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads.” This would reunite Larson with helmer Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed her in her most acclaimed role to date, Short Term 12.
