Happy Monday, my fellow humans. Let’s kick off this work week with the latest news from the set of Suicide Squad, courtesy of director David Ayer. Suicide Squad 1

…Fans might be a teensy bit concerned that they’ve already seen too much of David Ayer’s film. Not to fear!, says the director, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. After completing its exterior shots on the city’s streets, the DC super-team film is about to “go dark,” as the production moves to its sound stages…

Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jared Leto as the Joker. The film opens on August 5, 2016.

Jurassic World

Though Jurassic World has not yet hit theaters, its director Colin Trevorrow says he will not be returning for any additional Jurassic Park sequels. “Jurassic Park is like Star Wars,” says the filmmaker about follow-up films. “Different directors can give a different taste to each movie… I would be involved in some way, but not as director.” Jurassic World arrives on June 12th.

Wilson

With the release of Fantagraphics’ Complete Eightball and the recent announcement that his graphic novel Wilson will be adapted to film, cartoonist Dan Clowes is getting a new round of deserved fanfare these days. It looks like the title role in his next movie has already been filled. Woody Harrelson will play the middle-aged, misanthropic Oakland divorcee, alongside Laura Dern. The film’s director is Craig Taylor, who helmed last year’s The Skeleton Twins. Wilson will start shooting in June in Minneapolis.

Lumberjanes

Lumberjanes

BOOM! Studios proved it had what it takes to bring one of its comics to the big screen with the recent crime thriller 2 Guns. Now the publisher has announced that its Lumberjanes is also on its way to theaters everywhere, in an adaptation scripted by Will Widger. Co-created by Boom! editor Shannon Watters, writer Grace Ellis, and artist Brooke Allen, and written by Noelle Stevenson and Ellis, Lumberjanes concerns a gang of girls spending the summer at a camp, who wind up encountering all manner of supernatural menace. BOOM!’s Stephen Christy, Ross Richie, and Adam Yoelin will produce the film for Fox.
