Movie Morsels: Ryan Reynolds Says DEADPOOL 2 Could Feature Cable

While fans anxiously await the release of Deadpool on February 12, we now have word that Fox is officially looking to put the Merc with a Mouth’s fellow antihero Cable in the film’s sequel. The buzz on Deadpool hath begun, thanks to a couple of advance screenings held in New York and LA. Fans attended expecting to see footage from the film, but were instead surprised with the whole enchilada. Lucky Los Angeles even got to witness a Q&A with the cast, creator Rob Liefeld, and Stan Lee himself. The reactions were unanimously positive…

Star Reynolds showed up at the New York screening for a Q&A, and when an audience member cried out for Cable in Deadpool 2, the actor replied…

“Your lips to God’s ears, my friend. Believe me, that’s being talked about.” According to ComicBook.com, Reynolds then “gave a smile, a nod, and raised his eyebrows as if to emphasize the point.” As the website points out, director Tim Miller has addressed this before, saying, “If we don’t put Cable in Deadpool 2 I think we’ll be run out of town.”

The J.D. Salinger biopic Rebel in the Rye, starring Nicholas Hoult as the reclusive author, has just signed Kevin Spacey to play Whit Burnett: “A professor at Columbia and editor of Story Magazine. He became a mentor and was the first to challenge the young Salinger, inspiring him to grow as a storyteller.” Empire‘s Danny Strong directs the film, and adapts it from Kenneth Slawenski’s biography JD Salinger: A Life.

I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House

The Affair

Ruth Wilson, the Golden Globe Award-winning star of TV’s The Affair, is set to star in the intriguingly titled I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, a supernatural thriller directed by Osgood Perkins, and co-starring Bob Balaban and Lucy Boynton. Wilson will play “a young nurse hired to care for elderly Helen Bloom, a best-selling author of ghost stories who has chosen to live out her final days in her beloved country home — a home that holds a horrific ghost story of its own.” Cue the creepy music…
