We may have our first-ever glimpse of what Peter Parker will be wearing when he goes into action as Spider-Man in the Russo Brothers’ Captain America: Civil War. Also in today’s Movie Morsels we might know who will play the Caped Crusader’s teen partner in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Plus, Chloe Moretz joins Neighbors 2, a behind-the-scenes featurette on the upcoming Everest, and more!
Captain America: Civil War
Wondering what Spider-Man’s new suit will look like when the character makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in next year’s Captain America: Civil War? Several clues may have arrived via Twitter. Birth, Movies, Death points out that “mysterious photos, close-ups and out of context imagery” have suddenly appeared on @Russo_Brothers, which looks to be a legitimate account assigned to the film’s directors, since it’s watched by Marvel casting honcho Jason Stamey and Ryan Stankevitch, VP of Global Marketing for Disney. The site claims they were tipped off to this account by a reliable source who hasn’t let them down before, and the images tweeted are definitely eyebrow-raising, among them this shot of what looks like a black-and-red super-suit; which leads one to question if Spider-Man could be returning to his original colors, which Miles Morales currently sports, in his next screen incarnation…

As well as this shot of what could be goggles Spidey wears, allowing his eyes to widen and narrow as they do in the comic books…

There’s also this shot that could refer to “The Sokovia Accords” that Cap mentions to Falcon in the post-credits stinger for Ant-Man…

Could this be Marvel’s first attempt at some Bad Robot-like viral marketing? Perhaps we’ll know more after Captain America: Civil War appears at Disney’s D23 Expo next month in Anaheim. The film opens on May 6th, 2016.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Zack Snyder’s son Eli, who featured in the director’s 300 and Watchmen, may play the Dark Knight’s late sidekick in flashback sequences in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. According to Heroic Hollywood’s Umberto Gonzalez, “Zack Snyder’s hot shot quaterback son Eli is supposedly playing the dead Robin that was filmed with Jared Leto.” Snyder’s frequent set photographer Clay Enos has helped fuel the rumor by tweeting the following image of the filmmaker and his offspring…

Neighbors 2
Last year’s comedy hit Neighbors is spawning a sequel, and it looks like Chloe Moretz will join returning stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, and Rose Byrne. Director Nicholas Stoller is back as well. Neighbors 2 moves in to town on May 13th, 2016.

Everest
Inspired by two different expeditions’ attempts to reach the peak of the world’s highest mountain, Everest promises to offer audiences a different perspective on real-world adventure when it opens on September 18th. Starring Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson, and Jake Gyllenhaal, and directed by Baltasar Kormákur, the film has a new online featurette offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at its making.
Experimenter
In the trailer for Experimenter, Peter Sarsgaard plays Yale University professor Stanley Milgram, who, in 1961, conducted an unnerving and controversial series of experiments designed to test the human impulse to surrender to authority. Winona Ryder and Jim Gaffigan co-star in the film, landing in theaters on October 16th.
Freeheld
In Freeheld, Julianne Moore and Ellen Page play a couple whose lives are torn apart when Moore’s character develops lung cancer and is dismayed to find the law won’t allow her pension to go to her domestic partner when she dies. Directed by Peter Sollett and co-starring Steve Carell, Luke Grimes and Michael Shannon, the film is based on the identically titled 2007 documentary short about real-life New Jersey police officer Laurel Hester. Freeheld opens on October 2nd. Here’s its trailer…
