Movie Morsels: New X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Featurette on Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique

I don’t know about you folks, but I’m still coming down from the mile-high thrills of this weekend’s Captain America: Civil War. Seriously, has any superhero received a 75th birthday present as as cool as this one? But as great as the film is (especially for us longtime superhero fans who still have nightmares about the godawful 1970s Captain America TV movies), I’m plenty pumped for this summer’s next big-screen superhero battle royale: X-Men: Apocalypse. In today’s Movie Morsels, we have two new featurettes from the film, as well as the latest videos from Alice Through the Looking Glass and Finding Dory, just-released photos from Assassin’s Creed, and more!

X-Men: Apocalypse

Last week, we got some intriguing behind-the-scenes looks at X-Men: Apocalypse‘s brand-new Storm and Angel, and this weekend brought us two additional featurettes on perhaps the most popular of the film’s returning characters (outside of Wolverine): Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto. In the following video, the award-winning and extremely photogenic actors bring us up to date on their merry mutants madcap activities…

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Let’s face it—while Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland made a mint at the box office, it wasn’t for every discerning fan’s taste. (I, for one, am more than a little worried about what the director will do with his upcoming live-action Dumbo adaptation.) But everything we’ve seen so far from the non-Burton-helmed sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass indicates that at the very least it will look better than the original, which was obviously green-screened within an inch of its life. The latest clips are surely promising…

Fast 8

Man, that Vin Diesel just cannot stop sharing photos and video from the set of his Fast 8. But who can blame him when the film’s set is located in sunny seaside Cuba? Fast 8 is in fact the first major big-budget Hollywood production to shoot in the formerly restricted country… Diesel’s latest video was released on Facebook…

Finally, the first trailer tease for the latest chapter in the Da Vinci Code film saga has just landed, featuring stars Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones, but for now you can only view it here. Expect the film’s full trailer to arrive very soon.
