Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

What’s this? A megabudget superhero movie advertising on junk food products? In case you missed it yesterday, writer Jeff Lemire and artist Dustin Nguyen’s most excellent science-fiction comic book Descender has finally nailed down a screenwriter to adapt it: Jesse Wigutow, who put in some time developing a Tron sequel for Disney and a Crow remake for Relativity, and just recently scripted an adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis’ Fire is doing the honors for Sony. For the uninitiated, Descender portrays a future in which all robots and AI are marked for destruction—particularly one, TIM-21, who is believed capable of destroying the galaxy.

The Jungle Book

Mowgli, Balloo, Bagheera, Kaa, and good ol’ King Louie (“the king of the swingers”) are back in theaters in Jon Favreau’s adaptation of Disney’s animated favorite The Jungle Book. A new TV spot for the film will play during this Sunday’s Super Bowl. Me Before You

Emilia Clarke’s Terminator film didn’t set the box office on fire, but the Games of Thrones star may have better luck with her next movie: an adaptation of Jojo Moyes’ best-selling novel Me Before You. The Hunger Games‘ Sam Claflin co-stars in this tale of a spirited woman who helps a “a high-profile, successful man who becomes wheelchair bound following an accident” discover that life is still worth living. (Hey, at least it’s not Fifty Shades of Grey.) Thea Sharrock directs the June 3 release, the trailer for which has just landed online…
