Captain America 3

Guess who’s back? No, not Jeremy Renner — okay, well he might be, but in a new interview Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Anthony and Joe Russo revealed that Bucky Barnes will be back in Captain America 3.

“Thinking about where that relationship can go is a piece of the puzzle for us for sure. That character is a wonderfully, beautifully tragic figure in the sense of is he the world’s most feared assassin or is he the world’s longest serving POW. Is he innocent by reason of insanity or the equivalent of it because he’s been mind controlled or is he irredeemable? Is he ever going to be acceptable to Cap again as the friend that he used to be before he was the Winter Soldier? These are very philosophical, emotional questions that pique our interest and definitely form one layer of the next movie.”

J.J. Abrams’ Superman: Flyby

While Tim Burton’s scrapped Superman Lives may be the weirdest Superman film that never came to fruition, it isn’t the only one. J.J. Martin Scorsese’s The Ramones biopic

At the tenth annual Johnny Ramones tribute at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Jeff Jampol, co-manager of the band’s estate, revealed that Martin Scorsese would likely be directing a film about the Ramones in honor of the band’s 40th anniversary in 2016. [Billboard]

The Connection

Drafthouse Films and Gaumont Film Company are bringing Cédric Jimenez’s explosive thriller The Connection to the US, and now there’s a subtitled teaser trailer! The period piece stars Jean Dujardin as Pierre Michel, a French magistrate and family man who tries to bring down the seemingly unstoppable drug kingpin Gatean Zampea (Gilles Lellouche). [Badass Digest]

Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur finds a Charming lead

First, he’s the motorcycle king of Charming, California, and now he’ll be the one, true king of Britain. Charlie Hunnam is reportedly director Guy Ritchie’s top choice to play King Arthur in an epic Warner Bros. project intended to span six films. Here’s hoping that Ron Perlman will be playing a hard-drinking Merlin. [Deadline]

Underworld

After four films featuring Kate Beckinsale in skintight leather doing righteous battle with vampires and werewolves, it looks like Screen Gems is rebooting the Underworld series. Tentatively titled Underworld: Next Generation and produced by Len Weisman, the film is rumored to focus on Eve, the part-vampire, part-werewolf daughter of Selene (Kate Beckinsale) and Michael (Scott Speedman).
