We’re all about the little people in today’s Movie Morsels, as Ant-Man Week continues with even more photos from superhero Scott Lang’s film debut. And we’ve got loads on some of the biggest upcoming indies, including the trailer for David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars, the just-announced title and director for IDW’s Zombies vs. Robots adaptation, more casting news on director Alexander Payne’s next project, and a ton of familiar names joining the horror anthology Tales of Halloween!

Maps to the Stars
The official U.S. one-sheet (pictured above) and trailer for David Cronenberg’s next head trip have just arrived. Starring Julianne Moore and the always watchable Mia Wasikowska — along with John Cusack, Robert Pattinson, and Sarah Gadon (the latter two of which starred in Cronenberg’s last film Cosmopolis) — Maps to the Stars follows Wasikowska’s character, who is recently released from a psych ward and tries to reconnect with her Hollywood family while on “a quest for redemption.” The film opens in theaters, On Demand, and iTunes on February 27th via Focus World.

Inherit the Earth
The film adaptation of Chris Ryall and Ashley Wood’s Eisner-nominated IDW comic series Zombies vs. Robots just got itself a director in the form of Andrew Adamson, who helmed Shrek, Shrek 2, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. But the film’s new title — the generic-sounding Inherit the Earth — may invite some criticism from fans. (Seriously, have we learned nothing from last year’s woefully overlooked Edge of Tomorrow?)
Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes is co-producing along with Circle of Confusion and IDW Publishing. Adamson’s most recent films are the Hugh Laurie-starring Mr. Pip and the James Cameron-produced Cirque du Soleil: World’s Away. A release date for Inherit the Earth has not yet been announced.

Tales of Halloween
The horror anthology Tales of Halloween — consisting of ten story segments, each set in the same small town on Halloween and helmed by a different filmmaker — has just recruited a score of new genre names to appear before the camera, including John Landis and Joe Dante (pictured above). The pair will appear in the film along with actors Barry Bostwick, Lin Shaye, Greg Grunberg, and Adrienne Barbeau and directors Mick Garris, Stuart Gordon, and Adam Green.
Directing each of the Tales are Neil Marshall (The Descent), Darren Bousman (Saw II, III and IV), Joe Begos (Almost Human), Axelle Carolyn (Soulmate), Adam Gierasch (Night Of The Demons), Andrew Kasch (Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy) and John Skipp (Stay At Home Dad), Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider!), Dave Parker (The Hills Run Red), Ryan Schifrin (Abominable), and Paul Solet (Grace). The project, produced by Epic Pictures, was conceived by Carolyn, Marshall’s wife and producing partner.

Downsizing
Yesterday we learned that Reese Witherspoon was reteaming with her Election director Alexander Payne for his next film Downsizing. Today we’ve got word that several other big names are joining Witherspoon and the previously announced Matt Damon, and each of them is a formidable comedic force: Alec Baldwin (pictured above in Still Alice), Neil Patrick Harris, and Jason Sudeikis. The film’s script, co-written by Payne and his Sideways collaborator Jim Taylor, concerns “a man, down on his luck, who decides he can have a better life if he undergoes a process to shrink himself.” Like I said, we’re all about the little people today!
