Movie Morsels: More ALIEN Movie Concept Art from Neill Blomkamp, New ANT-MAN Clip, Ezra Miller Talks FLASH Film

Before you folks get your weekend started we’ve got a few treats for you in today’s Movie Morsels that are as hot as any July barbecue, including the latest concept art from Neill Blomkamp’s Alien movie, a featurette on the origins of the new Fantastic Four, a new clip from this weekend’s Ant-Man, an interview with The Flash film star Ezra Miller, the latest on Stephen King‘s It, and more!

Untitled Alien Sequel

Neill Blomkamp’s Alien film continues to look like it will be a direct sequel to James Cameron’s Aliens. The director has released a new piece of concept art that once more shows an older and wiser Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and Hicks (Michael Biehn). “Going very well,” says the director. “Love this project.” Here’s hoping after the dual disappointments of Elysium and Chappie that the once-promising District 9 director still has what it takes to deliver a stirring science-fiction adventure.

#alien going very well. Love this project

Fantastic Four

While the young protagonists of Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot have a shared destiny, they have four different origins, all of which are explored in the latest behind-the-scenes look at the Josh Trank-directed superhero film. Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell star in the August 7th release.

Ant-Man

With Ant-Man arriving in theaters this weekend, Disney/Marvel is taking no chances in making sure you’re as pumped as possible for the adventures of thief-turned-superhero Scott Lang. Check out the latest clip from director Peyton Reed’s action comedy below, starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas.

The Flash

Apparently Ezra Miller isn’t feeling the least bit competitive with TV’s Flash as he prepares to don the costume of the Scarlet Speedster himself in Warner Brothers upcoming big-screen adaptation. MTV caught up with the actor for a brief interview, in which he discusses the film, due out on March 23rd, 2018.

It

Pennywise

After losing Cary Fukunaga earlier this summer, it looks like New Line’s adaptation of Stephen King’s It has finally found itself a director. Mandy Muschietti, best known for helming the Jessica Chastin starrer Mama, is in negotiations to helm the long-in-development horror epic. It’s uncertain if Will Poulter will still star as Pennywise, the clown who, as embodied by Tim Curry in the original TV adaptation (pictured above), traumatized so many of us when we were kids.

Legend

Think one Tom Hardy is trouble? Try two. New footage has arrived of the actor’s turn in Legend, in which he plays legendary twin London gangsters Ronald and Reginald Kray. Directed by Brian Helgeland and co-starring Emily Browning, Colin Morgan, David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston, Chazz Palminteri, Tara Fitzgerald and Taron Egerton, Legend arrives in America on October 2nd. Here’s the latest trailer:

The Gift

Joel Edgerton’s directorial debut continues to look suitably creepy in the second trailer for The Gift. Produced by Jason Blum (no stranger to twenty-first-century terror) and co-starring Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall, the chiller poses the question “How well do we really know the people closest to us, and are past bygones ever really bygones?” The Gift opens on August 7th.
