Movie Morsels: MINIONS Posterior Poster, Bryan Singer Announces “Secret Scene” for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

What secrets lie beneath the X-Mansion? That’s what director Bryan Singer has us asking about X-Men: Apocalypse in today’s Movie Morsels. We’ve also got a look at some of the cameos to be found in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, as well as the latest poster for Minions, three new TV spots for Terminator Genisys, and a clip from the upcoming sci-fi thriller Self-less.

X-Men: Apocalypse

Bryan Singer just isn’t gonna make the next twelve months easy for X-Men fans, what with all of his social media teases about X-Men: Apocalypse, currently shooting in Canada. The director’s latest Instagram video reveals he was working on a “secret scene” in one of the X-Mansion’s underground hallways. What could this scene be about? Could a Hugh Jackman/Wolverine cameo be involved? Your guess is as good as mine. In any case, X-Men: Apocalypse lands on May 27, 2016, and stars X-vets Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Lucas Till, and Evan Peters, as well as newbies Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Lana Condor as Jubilee, and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse himself.

Minions

Those lovable little loyal lovable yellow critters from Despicable Me are back again in their very first solo film, debuting July 10th. Minions explores the origins of the its title characters, and finds them teaming up with the supervillain Scarlet Overkill (voice by Sandra Bullock) for a period comedy thriller set in the 1960s. Here’s the film’s latest poster for the juvenile-minded among us (I of course include myself in that category)…

Terminator Genisys

As part of Warner Brothers’ ongoing effort to help you see all of Terminator Genisys without the trouble of having to, y’know, actually going to your local movie theater, the studio has released three new TV spots for the film, opening on July 1st. Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke stars as the new Sarah Connor alongside Jai Courtney’s Kyle Reese, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dayo Okeniyi, Matthew Smith, Courtney B. Vance, and Byung-Hun Lee; while Alan Taylor directs this fifth Terminator film.

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

The Syfy Channel is offering us the forecast for Wednesday July 22nd. Because at 9/8c that day, for the third time in history, it’s gonna start rainin’ sharks! Yes, Sharknado 3, directed by Anthony Ferrante, is coming whether we like it or not. But can a film that stars Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, David Hasselhoff, Bo Derek, Ryan Newman, Claudia Shepard, and Jack Griffo, as well as cameos from the likes of Ann Coulter, be all that bad? On second thought, don’t answer that.

Self/less

Director Tarsem Singh’s latest is Self/less, a science-fiction thriller about a wealthy dying man (Sir Ben Kingsley) who transfers his consciousness into the body of a younger man (Ryan Reynolds). Here’s a clip from the film in which Matthew Goode’s character explains the procedure Kingsley will undergo. Self/less arrives on July 31st and co-stars Victor Garber, Derek Luke, and Michelle Dockery.
