Movie Morsels: Marvel’s Post-AGE OF ULTRON Plans for Vision, TOMORROWLAND & ZOOLANDER 2 Updates

Hey kids, do you like super-powered androids, Disney theme parks, jets of massaging warm water, wacky henchmen, and male supermodels? You, do?! Then you’re gonna love today’s Movie Morsels, in which we update you on Marvel’s post-Avengers: Age of Ultron plans for Paul Bettany’s Vision, Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland, and Zoolander 2 — and share a couple of wacky Super Bowl ads for Minions and Hot Tub Time Machine 2!

Avengers: Age of Ultron

What’s Marvel and Kevin Feige’s vision for The Vision after the android Avenger makes his debut in Joss Whedon’s upcoming Age of Ultron? Why, more Marvel movies of course! While promoting his latest film Mortdecai, actor Paul Bettany remarks, “That’s the really great thing about the Marvel gig for me. I have never known if I have had a job six months out ever in my life. And now I know that they have plans and I can be even more judicious about the stuff that I do outside of that work. I can wait for the right thing and feel really attached to it.”

Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland

Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland has been guarding its secrets well since the Disney theme park adaptation was first announced (no surprise for a film scripted by Damon Lindelof). But the George Clooney-starring sci-fi project is prepared to share those secrets at last when it presents a thirty-second TV spot during Sunday’s Super Bowl game. Tomorrowland promises to take us to the future, by way of the past, on May 22nd.

Minions

And speaking of this Sunday’s annual sporting event, a Super Bowl TV spot for Universal’s upcoming Despicable Me spinoff Minions has just been released, and you can view it right here and now…

Minions traces the evolution of the gibberish-spouting critters from single-celled organisms to supervillain servants, eventually putting them in 1960s London. Directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, written by Brian Lynch, and featuring the voice of Sandra Bullock as the villainous Scarlet Overkill, the 3D-CG animated epic arrives on June 10th.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2

Oh, alright. Since you asked so nicely, we’ll share with you another Super Bowl TV spot, albeit one that probably won’t air during the Super Bowl — for director Steve Pink’s Hot Tube Time Machine 2. The film will heat up our winter when it arrives on February 20th. Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, and Chevy Chase return, joined this time by Adam Scott and Gillian Jacobs.

Zoolander 2

America’s favorite male supermodel is coming back. Actress (and wife of star Ben Stiller) Christine Taylor has announced she will return to play journalist Matilda Jeffries (who had, when we last saw her, become the mother of Derek Zoolander’s child) in the long awaited Zoolander sequel, which appears to at long last be moving forward. Speaking with EW, Taylor says, “I can tell you that I’m involved, but that’s all I can say. I can tell you it’s happening, but I can’t tell you where Matilda’s at and where their relationship is at. It’s all top secret!” The film, directed by Stiller with a script by Justin Theroux, is expected to co-star Penelope Cruz. Word on the streets is that Will Ferrel and Owen Wilson may also return.

I’m so glad Vision will be sticking around. well I mean we knew that , but not if he’d be back in for more films. Wonder which he’ll appear in – if any – before Avengers: Infinity.
Also, super excited for Zoolander 2. As for Hot Tub Time Machine 2, I actually never saw the first one. But after all these commercials, I think I’m going to go watch the first and be ready for the sequel. This all looks hilarious!
